Like everyone, my favorite foods take me back. Growing up in Oklahoma City, my family owned a window and siding company. Every Saturday morning, my sister and I would spend the day there entertaining ourselves until it was time for lunch. We would order take-out barbecue every weekend and eat lunch at the warehouse office and then go about our day in the afternoon. After moving to Chicago, I always missed that delicious barbecue sauce that I loved so much.
As the saying goes “you can take the girl out of the country,…... Oklahoma will always be ‘home’. The Oklahoma bbq I remember includes a variety of meats - brisket, pork ribs, smoked bologna and hot links, always prepared over hickory wood and served over a piece of plain white bread.
Okie Bo’s was born after years of re-creating that Oklahoma style sauce. That same traditional taste - using only the highest quality ingredients and no high fructose corn syrup or artificial flavors.
To me it is total nostalgia - after sharing it, I realized that others loved it too. Okie Bo’s is a sauce that gets back to what it is really all about. Sharing a meal with friends and family, and making a memory. Okie Bo's brings people together - enjoying great sauce and creating new memories.
